A getaway to Rome

DAY 1 - Rome

Benvenuti a Roma! Following a morning transfer out of Fiumicino airport, we'll reach the main glamour street of Roma: Via Veneto. Your Roman home for the next two days is right in the heart of the eternal city. After checking in and some time to relax, your guide will collect you at 4pm for an introductory walk to this marvel of a city. Explore fountains and squares of Rome (truly an outdoor museum) by foot, led by Romans, who are passionate about their birthplace.

Your local expert will guide you through Rome's laneways and charming piazzas pointing out what most visitors miss, making your short stay a rich one full of past and current history nuggets.

Conclude the afternoon with a close study of the Pantheon followed by a stop at Rome's top gelateria and cafè. Tonight, head to a local trattoria whose pasta made with Cacio e Pepe is the talk of the town.

DAY 2 - Vatican and San Pietro Basilica

An early morning start allows you prime viewing at the Sistine Chapel. A driver will collect you from your hotel at 7:15am and deliver you to the Vatican connecting you with your guide, who will lead you ahead of the crowds into the Vatican museums for an in depth morning visit.

After taking in the Museums, be humbled by the imposing beauty of Saint Peter's Basilica, where you will encounter another of Michelangelo's masterpieces, La Pietà. For a fascinating finish, you will stop to admire the magnificent Saint Peter's Square, as your guide points out Bernini's ingenious use of optical illusions. Our visit is well timed to also take in lunch at a spot with a terrace boasting incredible views of Saint Peter. Afternoon is at your own peace.

DAY 3 - Colosseums and Catacombs

After breakfast, your guide rejoin you at 9am to begin introducing you to all things Roman. Begin with the legendary Colosseum and regale you with a series of grand and tragic stories - including tales of the colorful characters who built and crushed the Roman Empire. Continue the engaging history lesson with a visit to the Catacombs and a walk along the 2,400-year-old Appian Way. Of all the roads that led to Rome, Via Appia Antica was the most famous, eventually stretching to the seaport of Brindisi, through which trade with the colonies in Greece and the East was funneled.

Your morning visit include the service of a van and driver collecting you from your hotel and delivering you to a central point in the historic center at the conclusion of your tour 4 hours later. Allowing you a chance to explore on your own, your guide will point you in the right direction for lunch options and answer any questions you may have for you the remainder of your time in Rome.
